Arlene Thomas joined Saddleback College as a full-time faculty member in 1988. For 10 years prior to that, she served as an associate faculty member in the Interior Design Department. Her professional Interior Design experience has been within the residential, commercial and model home field.   In 1995, Arlene became Department Chair for the Interior Design and Travel & Tourism Departments.

During her tenure at Saddleback, her responsibilities have included teaching a variety of courses including: ID 110, ID 111, ID 112, ID 113, ID 115, ID 121, ID 126, ID 127, ID 128, ID 129.

Prior to joining Saddleback College full time in the Fall of 2005, Alinde worked at Saddleback College as associate faculty and at the Design Institute of San Diego. She has worked in the field of residential and commercial Interior Design and also has her own consultation business.
In her spare time, Alinde enjoys playing tennis and golf, travel, theatre and reading.

Ruth Jacobson joined Saddleback College as a full-time faculty member in 1974, after six years of full-time experience at Mount San Antonio College. She planned, developed, wrote all curriculum and pursued California Community College approval of the Saddleback College Interior Design Program in 1975. Later after serving as Department Chair, she was appointed as Dean of the Technology and Applied Science Division. In 1997, the district Board of Trustees reorganized district administration and appointed Ruth to serve as Dean of Mathematics, Sciences and Engineering at Irvine Valley College. After ten years as a Dean, she retired and returned to the classroom as Adjunct Faculty in Interior Design.

Ruth’s professional Interior Design  experience has included residential design including custom home development and commercial design. Since 1978 she has been the owner of a consultation design business, Ruth Jacobson Interiors.

Courses taught in the Interior Design Department include: Fundamentals of Interior Design, Space Planning, History of Interior Architecture and Furnishings I and II, Interior Materials & Products, Business & Professional Practice for Interior Design, and Interior Design Internship.

Sandra Hayes joined Saddleback College as a part-time faculty member in 2006.

Joni Owen has been in the Interior Design Field for over 30 years.
Her specialty has always been Kitchen and Bath Design.
Joni is also a General Contractor and owned a design showroom in for 14years.
She teaches because sharing knowledge she has gained over the years seems like the right thing to do.

Lauren Matchison joined Saddleback College in August, 2004. Her responsibilities include teaching the following courses: Arch 12, History of Architecture; Arch 10, Introduction to Architecture; Arch 126 Materials and Methods; Arch 124a,b,& c, Architectural Drawing I, II, & III; and Arch 50, Introduction to AutoCAD.

Lauren is a registered architect and currently works as an architectural designer.  She also provides rendering and autocad services to local firms.

Professor David Titus joined Saddleback College in August of 1990.  His responsibilities include teaching engineering drawing & design and architectural computer-aided-drafting. His software specialty is AutoCAD, both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional techniques. For several years, he has been the Department Chair for Architecture/Drafting Technology & CAD. He has recently helped establish rapid prototype model-making curriculum and courses at the college.

Prior to joining Saddleback College, Mr. Titus enjoyed a successful 12-year tenure as a full-time professor at Hartnell Community College, in Salinas, California.
